Fascia Installation Tips
During hot summer days, some time fascias on your residential property get damaged. Installing fascias in a proper way and with good material, expand the life of fascia. Here, I am going to share fascia installation tips to make sure they protect your home and last for years to come.
Collect Proper Tools and Equipments: For the proper fascia installation, you need to collect all the essential equipments that are used in fascia installation. You need hammer, 12 inch trim nail punch, chalk line, 4-inch screwdriver, circular saw, fascia folding tool, combination square, framing square, jigsaw, pry bar, utility knife, plywood cutting circular saw blade, safety glasses, Tin snips, tape measure, sawhorses, drip edge, soffit panels,1 1/2-inch trim nails, J-channel. Before starting fascia installation, collect all these essential equipments.
Take Your Measurements: Now, take the proper measurements. Measure the area that needs soffit and fascia. Generally the length of fascia should be 12 feet in length and come in either 12-inch or 16-inch widths.
Prep Your Area: Before starting installation, you have to prepare the area. Ensure the surface is straight and attach any loose shingles or boards that might affect the installation. Also, remove you need to remove the gutter before installing fascia.
Leave Room for an Expansion: Also, remember one more thing, leave the room for expansion if you are using aluminum soffit. For the better safety, leave around 1/4 of an inch expansion room at the end of the soffit. Doing so will allow the soffit to adjust to different temperature conditions without bending.
